Memo or Destination Tag are unique identifiers that are essential in transactions involving certain types of cryptocurrency assets. They help centralized platforms like Binance, Coinbase, and Kucoin to direct your funds to the correct account. Remember, it's a user's responsibility to use the right Memo or Destination Tag. Incorrect or missing information could mean your funds don't reach their destination or, worse, get lost in the digital void.
Memo tag can be found on respective asset deposit screen on CEX app. For instance, Binance Exchange clearly shows this information for relevant asset in Deposit process.
You can enter a Memo before final transfers on the transaction signing page. Check this quick clipping to learn how to add a Memo in Leap Wallet while sending assets to CEXes.

Certain assets, especially when transacted through centralized exchanges, need these identifiers. Some of these include Cosmos (ATOM), Osmosis (OSMO), Neutron (NTRN), Celestia (TIA), Injective (INJ) and Kava (KAVA).
Leap Wallet is a non-custodial & decentralized wallet. Leap wallet by nature don't require a Memo or Destination Tag. When you're sending these tokens to Leap Wallet, all you need is the deposit address – no extra steps!
If you've sent tokens without the required Memo or Destination Tag, your first step is to contact the support team of the receiving wallet or exchange. Remember, once a transaction is confirmed on the blockchain, it's irreversible. As a non-custodial wallet, Leap won't be able to help you in stopping this transfer or refunding your lost assets.
